When praying the Rosary for priests, use the intentions for each decade listed below for those special intentions in the life of the priest.
JOYFUL MYSTERIES
1. Annunciation: For obedience and loyalty.
2. Visitation: That they make Christ present.
3. Nativity: For the Pope and Bishops.
4. Presentation: For our Bishop and his priests.
5. Finding in the Temple: For priestly holiness.
SORROWFUL MYSTERIES
1. Agony: For prists who suffer.
2. Scourging: For those persecuted for their pristhood.
3. Crowning: For victory over all temptations.
4. Carrying the Cross: For priests in the missions.
5. Crucifixion: For perseverance.
GLORIOUS MYSTERIES
1. Resurrection: For our own parish clergy.
2. Ascension: For priests in religious life.
3. Pentecost: For the outpouring pof the Holy Spirit.
4. Assumption: For deceased priests.
5. Coronation: For priestly vocations.
Prayer to the Eternal High Priest
O Jesus, Eternal High Priest, keep Thy priests within the shelter of Thy Most Sacred Heart, where none can touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Thy Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily tinged with Thy Precious Blood. Keep pure and unworldly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the Priesthood. Let Thy Holy Love surround and protect them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls too whom they minister be their joy and consolation here, and their everlasting crown in the hereafter. Amen.
Offering of Holy Hour for Priests
O my God, weak and miserable as I am, I have come to spend this hour alone with THEE, in reparation for priests who have forgotten that they are Thy chosen souls. Especially, dear God, do I offer this holy hour for the priest who at this moment needs it the most. In praying for consecrated souls, help me to remember my own utter weakness and misery as nothingness. Were it not for Thy grace, I would be far worse than those whom I pray.
O my God, help those priests who are faithful to remain faithful; to those who are falling, stretch forth Thy Divine Hand that they may grasp it as their support. And for those poor unfortunate souls who have fallen, lift them up in the great ocean of Thy Mercy, that being engulfed therein, they may receive the grace to return to Thy Great Loving Heart. Amen.
Have mercy on them, O Lord, have mercy
O Lord, I ask Thee, let the anguished sweat and the Precious Blood, which Thou didst shed on the Mount of Olives, fall on me so that, bathed in this agony, I may, in a hidden union with Thee, offer the anguished bloody sweat to the father for all priests:
who no longer believe in Thee,
who no longer love Thee,
who no longer care about Thee,
who thoughtlessly trample on Thee,
who mock Thee,
who place Thee into unclean hands and impure hearts,
who forget Thee.
Have mercy on them all, O Lord, in their terrible misery. Have mercy on them. Amen
Prayer for Vocations
O God, Who hast chosen the Apostles to make disciples of all nations and Who by Baptism and Confirmation hast called all of us to build up Thy Holy Church, we earnestly implore Thee to choose from among us, Thy children, many priests, deacons, and religious brothers and sisters, who will love Thee with their whole heart and will gladly spend their entire lives to make Thee known and loved by all. amen
