This book aims to explore the heart of Saint Paul rsquo s theology and ethics in a way that will appeal to modern readers The writer accepts the traditional view that Paul wrote or had a major influence on all the letters attributed to him from Romans through to Philemon The material is thematically arranged so that an overall view of Paul rsquo s thought can be presented The major themes discussed are the nature of God the importance of Christian love Christ rsquo s influence upon the inner life of Christians through the cross and resurrection judgment and the end of the world the gifts of the Spirit the Christian community and the nature of salvation The treasury of Paul rsquo s most loved texts is explored first of all by a commentary on the text itself and then by discussing the implications of Paul rsquo s message for the Church today Interesting illustrative material is used At the end of each sub section two appropriate Bible readings mainly from the Pauline material are suggested so that the breadth of Paul rsquo s thinking as well as the depth may be experienced At the same time links with other relevant biblical texts are made
